Tabs and the sidebar
Vertical tabs can be organized into workspaces. Move the sidebar left or right in settings without restarting.
Command palette
Press Ctrl + K and type a tab, command or workspace name. You can duplicate, pin, mute or reopen a tab, open privacy settings or toggle reader mode on supported articles.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl + K | Command palette |
| Ctrl + T | New tab |
| Ctrl + W | Close current tab |
| Ctrl + L | Focus address bar |
Modes and unloading
Choose a mode on the home page or in settings. Efficiency reduces interface effects and preloading. Balanced uses normal Firefox settings. Performance restores tabs ahead of time. Gaming Mode is a separate option.
Set an idle-tab timeout in settings. “Never” disables automatic unloading. An unloaded page is restored when you open its tab.
Site exceptions
Enter comma-separated domains in memory settings to keep them loaded. Active and pinned tabs, audio and calls are protected from automatic unloading.
Add sites with unfinished forms or other ongoing work to your exceptions: unloading may reload their pages.
